I never write in this.

but obviously I was wrong,
McCain did not have it in the bag.

It was an historic moment, to be sure.
I hope you all saw both McCain's and Obama's concession speech, which was brilliant, and a call for the country to now heal. President-elect Obama seconded the call, and it is one we must now all heed.

The country is broken. Divided. Fraught by war and economic woes, and it is up to us, its citizens, to help it heal. The new president and Congress can only do so much. We must reach out to each other. Help those in need when we can. Use our amazing creativity as humans to find answers to difficult questions. This is the time to work together to build a more positive future for ourselves, our children and the many generations to follow.

This is a beginning. One we can all take great pride in having witnessed. Now comes the real work.

All we can do is pray.
